Kaka’s future may be a step closer towards being resolved after the Brazilian met with Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu yesterday.

The attacking midfielder is looking increasingly likely to leave the Spanish giants as he has struggled to convince on the pitch since joining from AC Milan for €65M in 2009.

Now, with Real Madrid moving to sign Luka Modric from Tottenham Hotspur, the 30-year-old is staring at much less playing time were he to remain with Mourinho’s men throughout 2012/13.

Three options are believed to be realistic for Kaka.

Firstly, a move back to his native Brazil, where his stock is still high. The midfielder is thought to be ready to head back to South America, a switch which could also ensure he is part of the country’s 2014 World Cup squad.

Secondly, the possibility of signing for an MLS club. The former AC Milan man would undoubtedly be a huge draw for American audiences.

And thirdly, a reunion with Milan, the club he left for Real Madrid in 2009. The Rossoneri are under pressure to make a big name signing following the departures of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain; Kaka’s wage demands would be a concern however.
