New France manager Didier Deschamps has welcomed Paris Saint-Germain’s coup of signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Deschamps, who recently succeeded Laurent Blanc as Les Bleus coach, believes that the arrival of the giant Swede in France can only be a good thing for Ligue 1.

The 30-year-old is earning a massive €14.5M per year at the Parc des Princes and his purchase has only added to the feeling that PSG cannot be stopped in the new season.

“Ibrahimovic is one of the great players, a great foreign forward”, said Deschamps.

“I think that today, except for opponents of PSG, to see Ibrahimovic in Ligue 1, it is good for French football.”

Ibrahimovic is expected to fire PSG to title glory this season. Last year Carlo Ancelotti’s men were pipped at the post by plucky Montpellier.
