Interested clubs have been warned that they will have to pay a minimum of €20M to take talented attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez from Bologna.
The Uruguayan schemer is a man in demand, with clubs from across Europe having been linked with a bid for his services, including Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Italian trio Juventus, Napoli and Inter.
A switch to the Premier League has always appeared the most likely option for the 21-year-old however, and the player’s agent admitted on 25th July that he had arrived in London for talks with an English outfit over his client.
Bologna accept that Ramirez may depart this summer, but are determined to extract the maximum price for their starlet – and the asking price has been set at a substantial €20M.
"The opinion of Bologna is that Ramirez could be sold if an offer arrived which reflects the value of the player", the club’s director general Roberto Zanzi told Ilsussidiario.
"€20M? That is the figure that we have decided to demand for a talented player like Ramirez."
Zanzi is clear too however that at present, despite much speculation to the contrary, no offer matching the club’s value of Ramirez has landed in the Rossoblu’s lap.
"At the moment there has been no concrete offer close to the market value of Ramirez, not taking into account smaller offers."
Ramirez was in action for Uruguay at the Olympic Games, an occasion which afforded English clubs the ideal opportunity to take a closer look at the 21-year-old in action.
