Paris Saint-Germain defender Alex believes that his new club can repeat the feat of his old club Chelsea by winning the Champions League.
Alex left Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window, heading for the Parc des Princes, but was a keen observer as his previous employers advanced to the final and then beat Bayern Munich on penalties to win the famous trophy.
Chelsea’s feat is something that has inspired Alex, who places the current PSG side as either just as good or slightly better than the Blues.
And thus winning the Champions League is possible.
"Everyone knows that Barcelona are the best team. But we’re in the top five", said the Brazilian.
"There is a chance to win the Champions League, it depends on us, how the players who have just arrived adapt. We have a good squad.
"Last year it was Chelsea who won. We are the same as this Chelsea team, or better.
"During my first two seasons at Chelsea, the team was very strong and now our team at PSG is level."
