Athletic Bilbao defensive midfielder Javi Martinez is hoping for a quick resolution to his future and admits that, for now, he is powerless.

German giants Bayern Munich want to snap up the Spain international, but are having trouble agreeing a fee with Athletic Bilbao, who want at least Martinez’ buy-out clause of €40M to be paid.

It has even been suggested that with various taxes added on, the true amount that the Bavarians would have to pay for the player is €46M.

It remains unclear whether Bayern Munich are prepared to pay what it takes to sign Martinez, though alongside team-mate Fernando Llorente, the midfielder has only been training sporadically with the Basques in a sign his exit may well be imminent.

The player himself though has no news, apart from even more media requests from Germany.

"The only thing that I can do is stay in peak condition and wait for a decision", said Martinez.

"It feels great that there is so much interest in me from Germany.

"It is crazy. They want to know everything about me."
