Claudio Ranieri is ready to stay at Monaco over the long term and is excited about what is being build at the Stade Louis II.
The former Inter coach was installed earlier this year following the takeover of the club by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev in December, and has been charged with steering the club back up to Ligue 1 from Ligue 2.
Monaco’s finances are now strong, the club have been active in the transfer market and there are hopes of eventually restoring the 2004 Champions League finalists to their former glories.
And experienced coach Ranieri, who has bossed the likes of Chelsea, Roma and Valencia, is most certainly along for the ride.
"I signed on the basis of this being a great and good project", said the Italian.
"The president wants a big team.
"He wants to see the team grow and win titles and I want to meet those expectations.
"I hope to stay here a long time and build something solid."
Monaco have started the new Ligue 2 season well, winning four games out of six and losing just once. Ranieri’s men currently sit second, just behind Dijon.
