Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has refused an approach from English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, according to Calcio Mercato.

Spurs are on the lookout for a new director of football and the Bianconeri supremo has featured on their shortlist, alongside countryman Franco Baldini.

relatedNewsStoryBaldini, who is currently Roma’s general manager, has been cold on the prospect of moving to White Hart Lane, and now it seems another Serie A talent spotter is also not keen on the opportunity.

Indeed, Paratici, who works closely alongside Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta, is thought to have rebuffed Spurs’ advances, insisting he wishes to remain with the Italian champions.

And Juventus are ready to reward Paratici for his loyalty.

There is believed to be a meeting scheduled on 26th October, where Juventus’ board of directors will rubber stamp a new contract for Paratici running until 2015.

Paratici joined Juventus in May 2010, switching from a similar role at Sampdoria.

The 40-year-old enjoyed a much-travelled playing career before moving to off the pitch matters.

Amongst a whole host of clubs, Paratici turned out for Novara, Palermo and Lecco.

He retired after a career in Italy’s lower leagues in 2004.
