Feyenoord played out an entertaining 2-2 draw against rivals Ajax yesterday at De Kuip, but thoughts quickly turned to whether highly-rated midfielder Kelvin Leerdam will be remaining with Ronald Koeman’s men.
A 90th minute equaliser handed Feyenoord a share of the spoils in the Eredivisie clash, but soon after the match the club’s technical director Martin van Geel was questioned over an extended contract for 22-year-old Leerdam.
And Van Geel revealed that he has set a time limit on the midfielder’s decision.
That date is this coming Thursday "otherwise the offer is withdrawn", Van Geel told NUsport.
"But I am assuming that this week we will have a positive answer from Kelvin.
"We have made every effort to keep him at Feyenoord.
