Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is keeping tabs on AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy, according to Italian daily Tuttosport.
Amidst Milan’s poor start to the season, El Shaarawy has shone brightly, giving the Rossoneri hope that they can rise up the table and forget about the summer sales of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, combined with the departure of a virtual team of veterans.
El Shaarawy has managed seven goals in ten games in Serie A, along with a further strike in the Champions League; without the 20-year-old, Milan would surely be flirting with the relegation zone.
Mourinho is now thought to have asked his scouting team to compile a detailed report on El Shaarawy, both on his personal and professional personality.
Should the forward continue to impress and pass Mourinho’s stringent checks, Real Madrid could launch a bid for his services either in January or next summer.
El Shaarawy will not come cheaply though.

And the Rossoneri will also no doubt be aware that cashing in on the starlet would further anger already disgruntled fans.
Season ticket sales at the San Siro plunged this summer, to just 21,000.
