AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has dismissed speculation that Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in Stephan El Shaarawy.

There have been suggestions that the wealthy English duo are both keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, who has been the one bright spot in the Rossoneri’s otherwise forgettable start to the season, and word of this appears to have reached Galliani’s ears.

For Milan fans, who watched their side cash in on Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva during the summer, losing El Shaarawy is a genuine concern. But Galliani has sought to allay those fears.

Indeed, the Milan vice-president has even promised that El Shaarawy is going to put pen to paper on a contract extension rather than leave.

"Manchester City and United interested in El Shaarawy? It is not something to joke about", said Galliani.

"Stephan has a contract with us for another five years and he will extend soon, to 2018", he added.

He has also found the back of the net once in the Champions League.

El Shaarawy is now firmly in the Azzurri mix too, having won two caps for Italy so far.
