DR Congo coach Claude Le Roy has had his attempt to cap midfielders Steven N’Zonzi and Granddi Ngoyi rebuffed.
The veteran Frenchman, who is in his second spell in charge of DR Congo, picked both players in his squad for the friendly against Burkina Faso on Wednesday.
However, each player has declined the invitation.
N’Zonzi currently turns out in the English Premier League with Stoke City, and while he was born in France, is eligible to play for DR Congo.
The 23-year-old has only represented France at Under-23 level and looks some way from a call-up to Didier Deschamps’ senior side.
Ngoyi is another player able to represent DR Congo and, like N’Zonzi, he has been involved with France’s youth teams.
The midfielder currently plays for French side Troyes and has clocked up international experience with France Under-19s and France Under-21s.

It remains to be seen whether he will try to convince N’Zonzi and Ngoyi once again in the future.
