Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has stamped on speculation that he is ready to quit the Gunners, insisting that all he is looking for is a loan switch.

The 20-year-old has not featured in the Premier League for Arsene Wenger’s men yet this season, with his appearances confined to the League Cup.

Frimpong is keen for more first team football to continue his development and it had been mooted that the Ghana-born schemer wanted to leave the Emirates Stadium for greener pastures.

He has, however, denied this.

"Subject to rumours am not leaving [Arsenal]", he announced via his Twitter account.

"I am positive of going on loan this week which am really excited about and I am fully commited [sic] to [Arsenal]", he continued.

"And am not in my last year or looking to be sold just to clear matters thank you and going on loan to get games and cum [sic] back to Arsenal."

relatedNewsStoryFrimpong clocked up eleven appearances in the Premier League last season and also featured for Arsenal five times in the Champions League.

He appears to have gone backwards in his pursuit of a first team spot this year though and will hope a loan stint can see him return to the Gunners in good form.

It remains to be seen where Frimpong may head on loan and what exactly the duration might be.
