Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are shaping up for a battle over promising Toulouse defender Serge Aurier, according to Le 10 Sport.

Aurier joined Alain Casanova’s men almost one year ago, signing from Lens in the 2012 January transfer window.

Stepping up from Ligue 2, Aurier was eased into Ligue 1 football, making ten appearances for Toulouse last season, before really beginning to flourish in the current campaign.

The right-back has so far featured in 12 Ligue 1 games for Toulouse this season and has impressed with a series of assured displays, demonstrating a maturity far beyond his years, with the exception of a sending off against Montpellier in his first match of the campaign.

Now the 19-year-old has popped onto the radar of both Arsenal and PSG.

The pair are keeping a close watch on Aurier, with PSG determined to snap up the very best young French talent, while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is already planning to recruit a successor to current right-back Bacary Sagna.

Toulouse will not be keen on losing Aurier during next month’s transfer window and he is under lock and key until 2016.
