Italian giants Juventus are believed to be stepping up their chase of Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic, according to Il Corriere della Sera.

Vidic's contract with the Red Devils is set to expire at the end of the season, and the Bianconeri believe they may have a chance of snapping up the steadfast centre-back on a free transfer, or for a cut-price fee in January.

Vidic, 32, has been with the Old Trafford giants since 2006, but his tenure with the defending English champions does not seem to faze his suitors, with the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also believed to be interested in the defender.

Vidic started his professional career in 2000 with Red Star Belgrade. Since then, he donned the colours of Spartak Subotica and Spartak Moscow before moving to Manchester United.
