Nicklas Bendtner would love to play for either of La Liga giants Real Madrid or Barcelona, as the forward continues to seek an exit from Arsenal.

Bendtner has made no secret of his desire to find regular football, something Arsenal are unable to provide the Denmark international at present.

His return from injury was followed by just the one full game – a League Cup clash – and he has been a substitute in the Premier League and the Champions League so far.

Several clubs had been interested in signing Bendtner this summer, but expected wage levels and Arsene Wenger's intervention prevented a move from pushing over the line.

However, when asked where he would prefer to play, Bendtner told Danish outlet Politiken: "If I could decide: Real Madrid or Barcelona.

"I do not want to sit on the bench and just watch. I love playing lots of games.

"I do not [think about money]. It is the sport that is the most important thing. I want to go somewhere where I know I can be happy to play.

"I want to go to a team where I can score goals and preferably win something."
