In-demand Austrian centre-back Martin Hinteregger will not be quitting Red Bull Salzburg this January, despite interest from Manchester United, Juventus and Lazio, his agent has explained.

Hinteregger has had scouts flocking to the Red Bull Arena in Austria this term and has built up an army of suitors, including several of Europe's elite.

There has been recent contact from Italian sides, his agent Frank Schreier has revealed, telling Cittaceleste: "Some Italian intermediaries, to be honest, have asked about the player.

"We were in contact with two clubs, Lazio and Juventus."

But even with Manchester United thrown into the mix Hinteregger will not be succumbing to the lure of a switch in the winter window, Schreier says.

"I can assure you that in any case we are talking about a transfer which could take place in June and not in the winter transfer market."

And for the Austria international centre-back, the choice is going to come down to Serie A or the Premier League, where Manchester United are suitors.

"Lazio as a destination is liked, but on a wider note, the Italian league is liked.

"Given the interest of Manchester United, the player has a future to be written in Serie A or the Premier League."
