Former France left-back Eric Di Meco believes that Didier Deschamps should drop Patrice Evra from the national team and instead opt for Paris Saint-Germain full-back Lucas Digne.

Evra has been regularly preferred for the left-back role with France by Deschamps, with the Manchester United man helping Les Bleus to beat Ukraine 3-2 on aggregate in their recent World Cup playoff tie.

But Di Meco, who made 23 appearances for France between 1989 and 1996, feels Deschamps should consider selecting Digne ahead of Evra.

The former Marseille defender told RMC: "Didier Deschamps still has some housework to do.
