Steven Gerrard feels that if Liverpool can play in the same manner as they did throughout the second half of last season then they will finish in the top four of the Premier League this year.

Liverpool have come roaring out of the blocks this term and currently sit second in the table. They have however had a favourable run of fixtures, with just Arsenal away and Manchester United at home making up clashes with realistic top four rivals; Liverpool lost at Arsenal but beat Manchester United.

And Gerrard knows things are set to take a step up in December with games against Tottenham, Manchester City and Chelsea amongst the busy festive period.

"Every month is pivotal and every game is pivotal. But we play a lot of games in a short space of time and there are some really big tests – going away to City, Chelsea and Tottenham are going to be huge games", Gerrard told his club's official site.
