Leeds United manager Brian McDermott has struggled to contain his relief after his side grabbed a hard-fought 2-1 Championship win over Millwall at Elland Road today.
McDermott's men had not won since 8th February, slipping down the Championship table as a result, amid continuing uncertainty over the club's future, with Italian businessman Massimo Cellino still waiting for a decision from the Football League over his proposed takeover.

And McDermott feels the victory over Millwall was crucial, brushing away talk of the London side fighting for their lives to climb out of the relegation zone, and claiming Leeds had an equally urgent need to win.
"That was a big win. We haven't won for a little while. I've got a lot of young boys out there, running around, who really want to play for Leeds and they dug in", the former Reading manager told LUTV.

"The only thing that matters in every game is the result. I've got a lot of youngsters out there. People don't take that into account sometimes.
"They say Millwall are fighting for their lives, this football club is fighting for its life as well."
McDermott also dismissed any criticism over the scrappy nature of Leeds' play.
"I was absolutely delighted with the resilience, the spirit, that dressing room, everything about it.
"You could turn round and say we didn't play silky football, but over 46 games when you've got a situation that we're in at this moment in time you're not going to get silky football with the uncertainty at the football club."
