Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard believes that his side could have had no complaints if they had lost away at QPR today, in a game they won 3-2.

The Reds, who were lacklustre throughout and struggled to get their passing game going, had a helping hand from QPR defender Richard Dunne to give them the lead, the defender prodding the ball into his own net in the 67th minute from a cross.

QPR managed to find an equaliser through Eduardo Vargas in the 87th minute and the game looked set to head for a Liverpool victory.

Liverpool hit back though, through Philippe Coutinho in the 90th minute, before QPR then remarkably scored through Vargas again in injury time.

But a Liverpool break saw another own goal, in the fifth minute of injury time, when Steven Caulker bundled the ball into his own net.

And Gerrard thinks Liverpool have had a lucky escape.

He told Sky Sports: "I'm still in shock to be honest. We were very lucky today.

"If we had come away with nothing we'd have no complaints. If we came away with a point we'd have no complaints.

"Our performance was very bitty, stop start. The only credit we can give ourselves is that we kept going.

"But we need to improve", he added.
