Oldham Athletic chairman Simon Corney believes Manchester United legend Paul Scholes will manage the Latics one day.
The former England midfielder, who is a lifelong Oldham fan, has been heavily linked with the job since Lee Johnson left to take over at fellow League One side Barnsley last month.
Scholes did help Ryan Giggs as a first team coach at Manchester United towards the end of last season after David Moyes was sacked and is believed to be keen to take up a role in management at some point in the future.
Though the 40-year-old is now currently heavily involved as a football pundit in the media, Corney believes one day Scholes will take up the manager’s role at Boundary Park.
However, he admits that bringing Scholes to manage the League One side is difficult and stressed that the eleven-time Premier League winner must also feel that it is the right job for him.

"I'd love to have him on board, [but] it's difficult", Corney told BBC Radio Manchester.
"You have to ask 'would Oldham be the right club for somebody like Paul?' It's not just about us wanting Paul, it's 'would it be the right thing for him?'
"I think one day he will come and manage the club, but it's all about timing with him."
