FC Porto full-back and Manchester United target Danilo’s heart is set on a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

It emerged earlier today that Real Madrid are stepping up their interest in the Brazilian international and are trying to negotiate a deal with Porto as soon as possible to keep Barcelona out of the picture.

The Mancunian duo of Manchester United and Manchester City are also keeping tabs on the situation regarding Danilo and are interested in making a move for him in the summer.

The names of Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have also come up in the discussions surrounding the player, but it has been claimed that Real Madrid are Danilo’s preferred choice for a transfer at the end of the season.

Last week the Real Madrid hierarchy and Danilo’s agent met in Madrid and the club expressed their interest in seeing the player wear Los Blancos colours next season at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It has been claimed the full-back’s representatives recently met Porto officials and reiterated the fact that their client has no intention of signing a new deal.

With his contract expiring in the summer of 2016, the Portuguese giants risk losing the player for free if they don’t sell him at the end of the season.

However, the Porto hierarchy are not ready to let Danilo go for a pittance and with the interest surrounding him; they are keen to drive up his price to around the €40m mark.
