Marseille’s Steve Mandanda is on Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s goalkeeper list, according to French sports daily L’Equipe, but it appears he may have missed out on a move to Anfield.

Despite tying Simon Mignolet to a new long-term deal in January, the Reds are on the lookout for a new custodian.

Mignolet has often struggled between the sticks for Liverpool since joining the club from Sunderland in 2013.

As a result, Klopp wants to strengthen his goalkeeping department. But Mandanda is third on his wish-list behind Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Mainz shot-stopper Loris Karius.

Mandanda, who will be a free agent in the summer, made 50 appearances in all competitions for Marseille in the 2015/16 campaign, keeping 16 clean sheets.

Everton and Villarreal are also keen to bring in the 31-year-old, who has 22 caps for France to his name.

Karius is currently the favourite to head to Anfield in the summer to provide competition to Mignolet, who kept 20 clean sheets in 55 games in the recently concluded season.

And with the German having a medical ahead of a move to Liverpool, it seems Klopp may never work his way down his list to Mandanda.
