Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is on the verge of joining Juventus after his representatives entered the final stretch of negotiations with the Serie A giants.

The Bianconeri have been on Can’s trail for over a year and despite extensive talks, there were fears inside the Juventus camp about missing out on the free transfer.

The German has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a back problem, which has more or less effectively ended his time at Liverpool, unless he does a volte face and signs a new contract.

The Juventus hierarchy recently delivered an ultimatum to Can and his representatives in order to push through the deal and it seems their tactic has worked.

According to JuveLive.it, the Italian champions are discussing the final details of a contract with his representatives and the deal is expected to go over the line soon.

Unless something dramatic happens in the coming weeks, Can is expected to move to Turin to join Juventus ahead of the start of the new season.

Bayern Munich and Manchester City were also on his trail, but it seems Juventus have edged out the competition for his signature.

The midfielder is also working hard on his fitness in order to make the Germany World Cup squad that will travel to Russia this summer.
