The agent of Chelsea linked defender Elseid Hysaj has not ruled out the possibility of his client leaving Napoli in the transfer window this month and insists Stamford Bridge is not the only potential destination.

The Albanian full-back’s future at Napoli has come under the scanner as negotiations over a new contract between the club and his agent have not gone anywhere.

Chelsea were interested in signing him last summer and have continued to keep tabs on him as Maurizio Sarri remains keen to take Hysaj to Stamford Bridge in the future.

The 24-year-old defender has been linked with a move away in January and Mario Giuffredi, his agent, admitted that a meeting with Napoli over his client’s future has not yielded any result.

He conceded that Hysaj does not need to leave Napoli in January, but admits a departure could be a possibility if the right kind of club come up with the right kind of deal for all concerned.

The Napoli defender’s agent told Italian broadcaster Rai Sport: “We are halfway through a meeting with Napoli and it has been of little use.

“Carlo Ancelotti has explained the situation and we agree with him.

"The important thing that he believes that we don’t need to leave immediately.

“The January market can offer opportunities and not just Chelsea.

“But it must be advantageous for everyone, otherwise we will talk about a new contract.”

Hysaj has a €50m release clause in his contract.
