Brewster spent last season on loan at Swansea City and scored ten times in 20 appearances in the Championship, as he made his mark.

The 20-year-old is a highly rated talent at Liverpool and the Reds have been holding off making a firm decision on his future as Jurgen Klopp assess him during pre-season.

Klopp has so far blocked a loan exit for Brewster, something which scuppered Sheffield United’s plans.

Their initial plan was to take Brewster to Bramall Lane on loan, but now the Blades have been forced to rethink their approach.

Now Chris Wilder is willing to splash the cash on him and sign the young striker on a permanent deal from Liverpool.

Sheffield United are ready to offer around £15m to Liverpool in order to take the 20-year-old striker to south Yorkshire this summer.

Wilder is a fan of the young striker and is prepared to spend a significant sum on a player who is yet to play in the Premier League.

It is unclear whether Liverpool are prepared to lose Brewster on a permanent deal yet.
