The 23-year-old winger spent last season on loan at Bournemouth and Liverpool are prepared to sell him during the ongoing transfer window.

The Reds want a fee of around £20m for the winger, but they are unlikely to get that figure, with Burnley being the only club who are showing any serious interest in signing him.

The Clarets are in talks with Liverpool but their initial bid for the winger is some way away from meeting the Reds’ valuation of the Welshman.

Dyche has remained coy on his side’s interest in Wilson, but did indicate that Burnley will have to bring out their cheque book to sign the winger in the ongoing transfer window.

“When there are rumours, I tend not to comment. There’s a number of things we’re looking at”, the Burnley manager said in a press conference when asked about his interest in Wilson.

“But it takes that magic chequebook.”

Liverpool are likely to accept a lower figure to sell Wilson and will reportedly agree to a bid of around the £15m mark.
