Jesse Lingard and Craig Dawson scored in the first half to make sure West Ham took all three points from a game that finished 2-0 in favour of the Hammers.

Leeds put on a solid performance in the second half and Patrick Bamford missed two good opportunities to hit the back of the net with a Raphinha attempt being cleared from the West Ham goalline.

Wright believes West Ham were solid in the first half and feels they did enough at the end to take all three points.

But the former striker feels given how the Hammers played after the break, Leeds should feel disappointed that they could not get at least a point from the game.

Wright said on Premier League TV after the match: “First half, they [West Ham] were very good.

“But I think in the second half, Leeds should be very disappointed not to get something out of the game.

“They didn’t just have half chances, they had very good chances.

“I think at the end, West Ham just did enough.

“But Leeds will look back at that and think they missed a trick because West Ham were there for the taking in the second half.”

Leeds stayed in eleventh while West Ham moved up to fifth in the Premier League standings.
