The Spaniard seems to have lost his status as the first-choice goalkeeper to Dean Henderson and is now fighting for a way back into the team.

De Gea has not found a place in the starting eleven since returning from a club-sanctioned break last month and Henderson has usurped him in the squad with his strong performances.

There are suggestions that Manchester United are looking to move the four-time club Player of the Year on at the end of the season and have even offered him a payoff to leave.

But it has been claimed that no such offers have been communicated to the Spain goalkeeper for the moment, contrary to claims.

De Gea is said to have welcomed the challenge for Henderson and does not mind the fact that he will have to win back his place in the team.

The Spaniard is also not keen to think too much about his future and is not looking beyond the summer at the moment.

He is only likely to take a decision after he takes stock of his situation at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen whether De Gea is in the team when Manchester United take on Granada in the first leg of their Europa League tie on Thursday night.
