Silva joined West Ham from Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes on a three-year deal in the summer of 2018, but the move has not gone according to plan so far.

Having struggled to make an impact at the London Stadium, the 24-year-old joined Greek outfit Aris Salonika on a season-long loan last summer with a view to getting his career back on track.

Silva has racked up 26 appearances across all competitions for the Greek side so far and the club are now keen to acquire his services on a permanent deal.

The club have the option to make the winger’s loan move from West Ham permanent for a fee of €1.2m but the amount is out of their budget, according to Greek outlet Sportime.

Silva has a contract with West Ham running out in the summer of 2022 and the Hammers are tipped to prefer to sell him this year instead of losing him on a free transfer.

With the Irons possibly looking to sell the Portuguese forward, it remains to be seen if they will be open to negotiations with Aris Salonika to lower the fees.

Silva has made two senior appearances for West Ham since joining in 2018.
