Sheffield United’s relegation has not hampered the reputation of the 23-year-old midfielder, who remains a highly rated player in the Premier League.

With the Blades set to be in the Championship, Berg could well depart the club in the summer and he is likely to be a wanted man.

It has been claimed that his contract contains a buy-out clause in the event of Sheffield United’s relegation and several clubs are keeping tabs on him.

Arsenal are admirers of Berg, with Mikel Arteta’s number two Albert Stuivenberg a fan, while Aston Villa and Tottenham are actively tracking him.

Sheffield United will be powerless to prevent Berg’s departure if his clause is triggered.

The midfielder is waiting for the season to end before he can assess the offers on his table this summer.

He is also admired by Jurgen Klopp and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool make a move for him as a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who is likely to leave the Reds on a free transfer.
