Moriba broke into the Barcelona first team last season and started three of their last four league games of the campaign.

With only a year left on his contract, Barcelona have been working on a new deal for him, but negotiations between the two camps have been frosty.

There is still no agreement between the two sides and Moriba has been kept out of the first team’s pre-season preparations.

And it has been claimed that the talks have not made progress and according to Catalan daily Sport, Barcelona have now stepped back from the negotiations with Moriba.

The Catalan giants do not believe that the youngster and his representatives want to negotiate a deal.

He has been training with the Barcelona B squad but will not be part of their friendly against La Grama today.

Barcelona believe that they have done enough on their part but have not seen the same effort from the player’s camp.

Manchester United have reportedly made an offer to Moriba, who wants Barcelona to match the wages on offer from other clubs.
