The 19-year-old midfielder had a terrific last season at Ajax as featured at the heart of the midfield that won the Eredivisie for the Dutch giants.

He also won the Young Player of the Year award in the Netherlands due to his performances and some of Europe’s biggest clubs have been tracking him.

Liverpool are amongst the clubs who are claimed to be keen, but Gravenberch made it clear earlier in the summer that he will not be leaving the club in the ongoing transfer window.

He is not thinking about his future at the moment, but did indicate that next summer, when he will have a year left on his Ajax contract, he could consider offers to leave the club.

The youngster told Dutch daily De Telegraaf: “I have a contract until the summer of 2023 and at the moment we are not talking about a contract extension.

“After next season, it would be a good time to look ahead.

“But I am really not concerned with that all because Ajax deserve my complete attention.”

Another good season at Ajax could mean big clubs will line up at the youngster’s door next summer.
