The 28-year-old has been a regular starter for the Blues since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival and has already made six appearances across all competitions this season.

Rudiger, though, is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea and there are question marks around his future at Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel is said to be keen to see the Germany international commit his future to the Blues, but agreeing personal terms could prove to be difficult.

Chelsea will have to offer Rudiger the double what he is currently earning to convince him to put pen to paper on a new deal with them, according to German daily Bild.

The centre-back currently earns €5.5m-a-year at the London giants and is claimed to be holding out for the double that sum to sign a new deal with the club.

Meanwhile, Rudiger is said to be attracting interest from top clubs, with French giants PSG said to be one of them.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will be able to agree a new contract with Rudiger to keep him at Stamford Bridge.
