The Portugal international was among the host of midfielders that were linked with a move to Premier League club Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were associated with a move for Otavio as they were claimed to be in the market for a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, who joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

Otavio, though, ended up staying with Porto and has now revealed that he does not know if Liverpool were interested in signing him in the summer.

The 26-year-old, who will face Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, feels if there are clubs interested in signing him it will be because of his performances in Europe or the Primeira Liga.

Whether they were interested or not, I don’t know“, Otavio told a press conference.

But if there is any team that are tracking me it’s because of my performances in the Champions League or in the league.

I always give everything in every game.

As Porto gear up to host Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday, Otavio will be looking to make a good impression.
