The Whites have had a difficult first half of the season, having missed a number of key players through injuries, including to their top scorer from last season Patrick Bamford.

Although the England international returned to the pitch following a lengthy spell on the sidelines in early December, he picked up a hamstring issue and has suffered another injury setback recently.

Goals have come at a premium for Leeds in the Premier League this season and they are looking for attacking additions in the ongoing window.

The Whites are claimed to have identified Lazio marksman Muriqi as a potential recruit and have been in touch with the Italian giants over a loan move.

And according to Italian outlet Lalaziosiamonoi.it, Leeds have stepped up their efforts to snap up the Kosovan and have made headway in negotiations over a loan move.

But Leeds and Lazio are yet to shake on a deal as the Yorkshire giants are reluctant to agree to the Italians’ demands to insert an obligation to buy the player for €8m.

Both clubs are tipped to continue talks over Muriqi, while Blackburn Rivers star Ben Brereton Diaz is another attacker Leeds have on their transfer radar.
