Marcelo Bielsa’s side want to strengthen before the transfer window closes and have been making efforts to land Brenden Aaronson from Red Bull Salzburg.

The Austrians have rejected two offers from Leeds though and are unwilling to let Aaronson go this month.

Leeds appear to have shifted their focus and made an approach for Liverpool’s Minamino, something they have been joined in by Ligue 1 club Monaco.

However, Liverpool have rejected the idea of selling Minamino now.

It is claimed that Leeds would need to make a substantial offer to tempt Liverpool into cashing in on Minamino before the window slams shut on Monday night.

The 27-year-old Japan international has made 18 appearances for Liverpool across all competitions this season and found the back of the net on six occasions.

He missed out on being involved in Liverpool’s 3-0 win at Leeds in September due to a thigh issue.
