Tottenham Hotspur were hot on the trail of FC Porto star Diaz before the Reds hijacked the deal and he now appears close to a move to Anfield.

Liverpool are missing two key members of their frontline in Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, as both are out on international duty in the Africa Cup of Nations.

As such the Reds were loathe to part with any member of their attacking department lest they come up short in their games.

Now though, with the expected arrival of Diaz, Liverpool are open to listening to offers for both Minamino and Origi.

Minamino is of interest to Leeds United, whose pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson seems to be floundering as the Austrian club are not willing to sell.

Origi on the other hand has been linked with Newcastle United as well as Serie A club Atalanta, while Inter are believed to have left his trail.

Diaz comes to Liverpool on the back of scoring 14 goals and providing five assists in 18 games in the Portuguese top flight.
