Bakinson arrived at Portman Road in January on a six-month loan deal from Championship side Bristol City.
The midfielder earned his third league start for the Tractor Boys on Tuesday and scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Donny at the Keepmoat Stadium, boosting the visitors’ hopes of clinching a playoff spot this term.
Bakinson has insisted he is still settling into life at Ipswich and promised he still has a lot left in the tank to give on the pitch.
The 23-year-old stressed he is hoping to add more goals to his name at Ipswich and is looking forward to showcasing his full array of skills in upcoming outings.
“I’m still finding my feet so hopefully I can show the manager, fans and other players I have more in the tank”, Bakinson was quoted as saying by East Anglian Daily Times.
“Hopefully everyone can see my all-round play and I can score some more goals, too.
“Hopefully I can score a few more goals.
“1-0 wins away from home are so important and hopefully we can get a few more.”
Ipswich are currently ninth in the league, six points adrift of a playoff spot and fans will be hoping new boss Kieran McKenna will be able to get more out of his players in the remaining games of the season and guide them back up the standings.
