Rangers beat Braga 3-1 at Ibrox on Thursday night to book their place in the last four of the Europa League this season.

The Glasgow giants have not gone as far in a European competition since making it to the final of the UEFA Cup in 2008.

They have been the fairy tale story of the Europa League this season and it has even brought a smile to the face of their former player Arteta.

The current Arsenal boss admitted that he is feeling delighted to see Rangers at this stage of the Europa League and insists that his connection with the club will last forever.

Arteta said in a press conference: “[I am] delighted [for Rangers].

“The connection that I have with that club is forever and I am so happy to see them what they did last night.

“So, congratulations to them.”

Arteta spent two years at Rangers between 2002 and 2004 before returning to Spain with Real Sociedad.

German giants RB Leipzig are standing between Rangers and a first European final since 2008.
