Sterling has a year left on his contract at Manchester City and has a decision to make over his future this summer.

Chelsea are interested in signing him with Thomas Tuchel believed to be pushing to take the England winger to Stamford Bridge ahead of the new season.

However, it has been claimed that Chelsea are yet to either get in touch with Manchester City or the player despite being interested in him.

Sterling is determined to not drag out the uncertainty over his future for too long and wants to resolve the situation one way or the other.

The 27-year-old wants his future sorted out in the next two weeks when he is scheduled to begin pre-season training.

Sterling has asked Manchester City for time for him to assess his options before taking a call on whether he will leave the club this summer.

The winger has not ruled out staying at the Etihad but wants guarantees over his role in the squad next season.

He was left frustrated in the latter half of last season when he was not in the starting eleven for a few big games.

If he decides to leave Sterling wants to be sure about the club he would be joining as he not only wants to compete for trophies and wants to be a key player there.
