Werner is heavily linked with leaving Stamford Bridge this summer and several clubs including Juventus, Newcastle United and his former side Leipzig are keen on him.

The striker is keen on returning to the Red Bull Arena and Leipzig held talks with Chelsea over a move for him a few days ago.

Werner is prepared to take a huge pay cut to push through a move to Leipzig but a deal is yet to be sealed.

Chelsea are suggested to be interested in a swap deal that would see Werner returning to Leipzig while their centre-back Gvardiol goes the other way and arrives at Stamford Bridge.

The Londoners have roped in Kalidou Kouilbaly but boss Thomas Tuchel still wants centre-backs and full-backs.

But the Bundesliga outfit will not consider allowing Gvardiol to leave the Red Bull Arena as part of a swap deal for the Blues attacker.

The Croatian only joined Leipzig last summer and they are not prepared to let him move to Chelsea in the ongoing window.
