Trapp was vital in Eintracht Frankfurt winning the Europa League in the 2021/22 campaign and qualifying for his season’s Champions League.

He has emerged as a big target for Manchester United who want to bring in a new number 2 who can push David de Gea for a place in the team.

The 32-year-old fits what Erik ten Hag wants from a goalkeeper and Manchester United have Eintracht Frankfurt’s mandate to speak to the German.

And according to German magazine Kicker, Trapp would like to join Manchester United if a deal can be agreed upon before the end of the window.

The Premier League giants have offered him a four-year deal and the German is interested in making the move to Old Trafford.

It has been claimed that Manchester United are likely to table a formal bid for him on Tuesday in their efforts to agree on a deal with Eintracht Frankfurt.

He has a contract until 2024 with Eintracht Frankfurt but is now keen on trying out a fresh challenge in England with Manchester United.
