Jose Sa, Matheus Nunes, Ruben Neves and Pedro Neto are the Wolves stars part of the Portugal squad for the Nations League games over the international break.

Wolves’ connection with the Portuguese team runs deeper as Joao Moutinho is a notable absentee in the squad, while other players from the nation at Molineux include Goncalo Guedes and Daniel Podence.

Neves has however rejected any suggestion that the dynamics between Wolves’ players play any part in Santos’ decision on what team to choose.

The Wolves star insisted that there are different dynamics when it comes to club and international football.

“No, nothing to do with the team’s dynamics, I don’t believe it is a factor in choosing who will play”, Neves said in a press conference when asked if the Portugal coach takes advantage of the dynamics between the Wolves players in the squad.

“We come here and try to change the game, because the dynamics are not the same.”

A number of Wolves players will be hoping to get the call-up to the Portuguese squad when the World Cup rolls around later in the year.
