A product of the Atalanta academy, the 19-year-old defender has made an impact in the first team in the ongoing campaign.

He is now a regular member of the squad and has notched up eleven Serie A appearances this season, leading to speculation over his future ahead of the January transfer window.

Several big clubs have taken note of his showings at Atalanta and are plotting to snare him away from the Serie A club.

Tottenham are amongst the clubs who have their eyes on him and Atalanta have a reputation for being a selling club.

However, Percassi stressed that Scalvini will not be going anywhere any time soon and stressed he is the symbol in the team for the local boys of Bergamo.

The Atalanta president told Italian daily L’Eco di Bergamo: “I can assure you that Scalvini will not be moving from Bergamo now.

“He is the symbol of the Zingonia [a province in Bergamo] boys growing up.”

Atalanta are keen to keep hold of Scalvini for as long as possible but are expected to come under pressure in the upcoming transfer windows.
