Arsenal signed the Belgian midfielder in 2021 but he is yet to establish himself in Mikel Arteta’s team and has been struggling for minutes.

He has not played a Premier League game since the start of October despite Arsenal’s lack of depth in midfield and his future has come under the scanner on deadline day.

It has been claimed that Crystal Palace are interested in taking him to Selhurst Park before the end of the window tonight.

They are set to make a late bid to sign the player on loan for the rest of the season from the Gunners.

Patrick Vieira wants to bring in a midfielder before the end of the window and Lokonga has emerged as a key target.

The midfielder needs more minutes in first-team football and Crystal Palace are prepared to give him that opportunity.

Arsenal are also looking to bring in a midfield man on deadline day, which is only expected to push Lokonga down the pecking order at the Emirates.

A loan move for the player also keeps Palace in the hunt for Conor Gallagher in the summer if he does not leave Chelsea today.
