Aaronson struggled in his first season at Leeds as they got relegated from the Premier League earlier this year.

The US international left Leeds this summer to join the Bundesliga’s Union Berlin on a loan deal until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

There was talk over the summer that Aaronson was being seen as a player they could stay on at Elland Road.

And it has been claimed that Leeds were indeed keen to keep him in the fight to get promoted from the Championship next season.

However, Aaronson had a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave Leeds on loan once they got relegated.

And once he decided to move on and chose Union Berlin as his destination for the upcoming season.

Leeds still have faith in Aaronson and it has not been ruled that he could be playing for the club again if they get back to the Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
