Tapsoba has been on Tottenham’s radar all summer as Ange Postecoglou seeks to bring in reinforcements for his side’s defence in the ongoing window.

Tottenham were reportedly preparing to go in with an offer of €45m but that was not expected to be enough to convince Leverkusen to sell him.

The German club are under no pressure to sell the Burkina Faso centre-back and are said to be demanding far more money than the mooted bid.

And it has been claimed that Spurs have now cooled their interest in trying to sign the Leverkusen defender.

Tottenham are still looking to bring in centre-backs but they have switched their attention towards other targets.

Spurs are in advanced negotiations with Wolfsburg for the signature of Dutch defender Micky van de Ven.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has personally taken charge of the talks in order to get a deal over the line for the Dutchman.

Tapsoba is no longer a priority target at Tottenham as the club seek to bring in a defender this summer.
