QPR made a horrendous start to their Championship campaign with a 4-0 defeat away to Watford last weekend.

Gareth Ainsworth is desperate to bring in more reinforcements and signing an experienced centre-back is a priority for the QPR boss.

The club have been in talks to sign Forest defender Cook this summer but the defender’s wage demands were turning out to be a stumbling block.

However, it has been claimed that the two clubs now have an agreement in place for the defender’s potential move to Loftus Road this summer.

QPR are now in advanced negotiations for Cook who is currently on his way to London for the formalities of the transfer.

The Championship club will put him through a medical today as they look to push through a deal to sign him as soon as possible.

Ainsworth has been eyeing improving his side’s defence and is confident that Cook will add much-needed experience to his backline.

QPR will need to register the centre-back by Friday if they want him in the team against Cardiff City on Saturday.
