The midfielder has been a bit part player at Bayern Munich since joining the club last summer.

He has been keen to move on in the ongoing transfer window but Bayern Munich took their time to decide whether to let him go despite Thomas Tuchel’s preference to sell him.

The German champions are finally ready to sanction his sale and Liverpool are pushing to sign him with little over a day left in the window.

According to German daily Bild, the midfielder has not been part of the club’s training session with the rest of the squad today.

He has been training away from the team as Liverpool push to try and sign him in the next day or so.

The Reds are in negotiations with Bayern Munich to take the Dutchman to Anfield in the coming hours.

Bayern Munich are expecting Liverpool to table a bid of €30m to sign the midfielder ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
